SUMMARY:Wiping Of Tears Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:We welcome all relatives to participate in a Lakota ceremony\, Istamniya Wicakicipakinta Pi (Wiping of Tears).\n\n\n\nWe understand that many relatives across the Valley are carrying grief from the loss of our relatives. Our community has suffered immeasurable losses due to community violence\, the sober living home scandal\, missing and murdered relatives including the death of young relative Emily Pike\, which has affected us all. This ceremony\, led by relative Delaney Apple (Oglala Lakota) offers a safe space to come together\, pray\, release the grief and return to emotional\, spiritual\, mental and physical wholeness. We will also offer some time for relatives to speak. Elders\, please bring a chair if needed. Register here https://bit.ly/3YNAPVG\n\n\n\nFor questions\, call 602-264-6768 or email Elicia Goodsoldier\, Language & Culture Manager at Phoenix Indian Center at egoodsoldier@phxindcenter.org\n\n\n\nDate: Saturday\, June 07\, 2025\nStart Time: 8:30 AM\nLocation: Phoenix Indian Center\nAddress: 4041 N. Central Ave. Building B\, Phoenix\, AZ
