This free, one day event centered Indigiqueer speakers & resource sharing for Two Spirit relatives, advocates, health specialists, tribal citizens & allies!
Presentations also featured Indigenous scholars and community members, including keynote speaker Dr. Charlie Amáyá Scott (Diné), Byron Upshaw, Rainbow Gathering Founder, Trudie Jackson & Curtis Davia, with the event hosted by Emcee Navi Ho. Rainbow Gathering Awards
As part of the annual Rainbow Gathering, we recognize two awardees who create amazing change for our Indigenous people in the southwest and make a positive impact in the Two Spirit LGBTQIA+ community.
Dream Catcher Award Honoree: Rita DeMornay (Akimel O’odham), Miss Phoenix Pride 2025
Awarded to an American Indian person who self identifies as Two Spirit LGBTQIA+ and has demonstrated a lifetime commitment and service to the American Indian 2SLGBTQIS+ community in the Southwest.
Basket Award: Tara Begay, FNP-C, MSN, AAHIVS (Diné)
Awarded to a person or an organization who is recognized as an ally of the American Indian Two Spirit LGBTQIA+ community and has provided support of programing and services targeting this community in the Southwest.
