Journaling has the power to improve mental and emotional health; such as decreasing stress and anxiety, increasing self-awareness, improves mood, regulates emotions, and helps us cope with trauma. Join this interactive session with Afro-Indigenous artist & educator Deon Mitchell (Diné).

  • Learn the basics of how to begin and maintain the journaling process.
  • Use writing prompts to guide expressive thinking and writing.
  • Apply cultural knowledge to express emotions through visual arts.
  • Reflect and record ideas through creative and intentional writing strategies
