Kinaaldá (Female) & Zhízhch’į́į́d (Male) Navajo Coming of Age Information Session

June 16 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Kinaaldá (Female) and Zhízhch’į́į́d (Male) are Navajo puberty ceremonies that are considered a “rite of passage” for Navajo girls and boys becoming women and men. Kinaaldá dóó Zhízhch’į́į́d are important life-changing events in a Navajo Youth’s life.

We understand the psychological, physical and spiritual changes can bring anxious thoughts but with the support of family, peers and the Phoenix Indian Center, we humbly invite Navajo girls and boys to grow their confidence by joining our next Kinaaldá (Female) and Zhízhch’į́į́d (Male) youth cohort. We welcome youth and their families to learn more about this opportunity by registering for our virtual information session on Tuesday, June 16th at 6:00pm (MST/PHX TIME). In this Zoom session, we will cover the eligibility, schedule, and how to submit an application to join!  Parents/Guardian register here:  Navajo youth, this cohort opportunity is for YOU. We hope to help guide you to start asking questions and start your self-discovery journey.

For more information, contact Language & Culture Coordinator, Kami Ortiz at kortz@phxindcenter.org or 602-264-6768 ext 130.
