Join us on Saturday, July 29 for the Miss Navajo Council, Inc. Cultural Workshop Day! The Phoenix Indian Center and the MNCI will cohost a day of workshops focusing on Diné language, culture and traditions. Former Miss Navajo Nation title holders will serve as the facilitators for the panels and sessions. This free event is open to the community; women, men, youth, and elders are encouraged to attend! Join us for this free, one-day symposium to celebrate the recent Supreme Court decision to uphold ICWA. This event will bring together parents, tribal leaders and professionals to share the impacts of ICWA on our Native children who have experienced foster care. Sessions will include speakers and presentations covering the foster care process, understanding Haaland V. Brackeen, keeping culture and connection, and the state DCS ICWA process.
